As I have been constantly saying to you over the last 2 years, your CV is a critical document for lawyers to see you as the expert you are. Your credentials also allow them to prevail at a greater level with you than without you.
At the end of this tutorial update, I am going to share with you another way to explode your practice using your CV.
Dr. Sheldon Hoxie in Merritt Island, Florida is one “anal” person regarding his CV. His actually makes me wonder how come mine is so weak?! In his “occupation” section, he lists his residency in chiropractic and it made me realize that no one in our profession lists their internship and residency. That is a grievous error because every one of us had to do an internship in order to graduate and gain licensure. As a result, I am urging all of you to amend your CV to add your internship and/or residency, as appropriate. As an example, here is mine:
EDUCATION and LICENSURE
Doctor of Chiropractic, Licensed in the State of New York, License #X003021, 1982-2000, 2002-present
**2-year voluntary hiatus for trauma related health issues
Doctorate of Chiropractic, New York Chiropractic College, Glen Head, NY, 1981
Internship, New York Chiropractic College Outpatient Facility, Levittown, NY, 1979-1981
Bachelor of Science in Natural Sciences, St. Peter’s College, Jersey City, NJ, 1978
I added in red how I amended mine. If you did a residency after you were licensed, then the residency goes under “occupation.” All experience while you were in school is part of your education.
As I shared with you a few days ago, I am working on a national campaign that is going to reach millions of Americans and you are going to have the first opportunity to use this service. It is going to be a FREE service and credentials are going to be a huge component. The better your CV, the more direct referrals you will get. I have created a way that you can win not only with lawyers, but with the general public, as well.
Be very diligent about your credentials…I have been telling you all along…They matter greatly and now they will matter even more! The national program will be released in a few weeks and I will keep you posted.
