"Narratives & the Lawyers Education" Do not miss the opportunity to solidify the relationship
In one of the previous consultations, I instructed you to insert the bi-monthly educational fliers into the packet when delivering the narrative to the lawyer. When that was written, we were not providing research and the topics were significantly fewer than they are now. As a result of the extensive library of trauma topics available, I strongly suggest you pick and choose what bi-monthly research fliers you choose to coincide with the bodily injuries of your patient. In addition, it is imperative that you also include the referenced research. This is a VERY BIG DEAL for the lawyer, as you will be providing critical information needed to prevail in their cases.
When a narrative is complete, you should call the lawyer and inform them you have the finished product. You then let them know that you have provided research for them on the specific bodily injuries of their clients and need to meet with them to explain the issues so they understand both the injuries and the research certifying the injuries are real from a scientific perspective. This will give them the ammunition needed to refute any nonsense thrown at them by the carrier or their opponents in negotiation for settlement.
This is called leverage in getting the lawyer to WANT to meet with you. At that meeting, make sure you have all of your binders. The goal of the meeting is to get invited into the lawyer's practice once per month to meet with both him/her and his/her staff to teach them the 2 new bi-monthly educational fliers.
