Preamble: Many of the issues I bring to you are very small, yet each issue is just that, an issue. If you take care of the small issues, then you will be able to build and more importantly, focus on the bigger issues...a larger practice and more family time. -Mark Studin 2006

"Comparing Old vs New MRI & HNP"

Dr Studin: So you're looking at a pre and post MRI, correct?

Guest Doctor: Correct.

Dr Studin: And in the pre MRI you looking to determine if it's new, you had mentioned prior to this recording that you were looking at the height or the thickness or the dimensions of the herniation versus the current one, correct?

Guest Doctor: Correct.

Dr Studin: Now, if it's not the exact same magnet, if the patient is not in the exact same position, then it could be off just because the shadows are different. So what you want to do looking for new… Yes you can measure, but you're going to get shot at and you're not going to win that argument, the lawyer is going to say doctor is it truth that the patient is one inch closer to the magnet. Would the shadow be bigger. Yes or no? You have to say yes. Can you assure that the patient wasn't wearing thicker clothes? They weren't bent a little bit. You actually say no. The doctor, you're not sure are you? And the answer has to be no. Therefore, I moved to and validate this finding and you creating a reasonable doubt in the mind of a judge and a jury. So the issue is there high signal where there wasn't before? Are there motive one changes? Are there bones first starting to form in areas other than this specific area? is there radiating pain after the accident where there wasn't before hand? Is there a thin disc or is the disc still high? All of these things are done to age, date herniation. So you guys go beyond the size and it's a lot more than that. And it's good to have a pre and post, but you have to be bulletproof and you've got to use more than one physiological facts.
