Preamble: many of these issues are small, yet each issue is just that… an issue. If you take care of the small issues, then the larger issues often take care of themselves and you can focus on the larger issues… a larger, more profitable practice and more family time.

“What Your Credentials Say to Your Community”

"WOW, You Look Marvelous!!!"

“Who I am, speaks for me” Mark Studin 2018

I received this yesterday from Dr. Cintineo, a Trauma Team Member in New Jersey. A local magazine heard about him and his credentials and wanted to do a biography on him; a “person of importance” in their community. Here is what they are printing for his entire community to read and the power of your credentials:

John E. Cintineo, DC, DAAMLP

Academy Spine & Physical Therapy

19-21 Fair Lawn Ave.

Fair Lawn

Dr. John Cintineo has positioned his practice to be a “primary spine care” center.  This means that much in the same way you would visit your primary care physician for most health issues, you should visit Academy Spine & Physical Therapy first for any spine related conditions.  New patients receive a comprehensive consultation and a thorough evaluation of their area of complaint which may include imaging (x-rays and MRI), if necessary to reach an accurate diagnosis before creating a custom treatment plan based on the patient’s condition and goals.

A 1986 graduate of the prestigious Palmer College of Chiropractic, Dr. Cintineo is sought-after by both patients and other physicians because of his extensive post-graduate training.  He is credentialed in MRI Spine Interpretation, Spinal Biomechanical Engineering, Accident Reconstruction, Spinal Trauma Pathology, Impairment Rating, Head Trauma/Brain Injury, Orthopedic Testing and much more. He is currently a member of the Academy of Chiropractic and is one of only 125 Doctors of Chiropractic (DC) nationwide to hold a position on their prestigious “Trauma Team” and one of only 31 DCs in the nation to achieve the “Primary Spine Care” qualification.

In 1987, Dr. Cintineo first began practice in Fair Lawn as a solo practitioner and founded Academy Spine & Physical Therapy, a multi-doctor, multi-specialist facility in 2001. “I wanted to bring in other conservative care disciplines that are complementary to chiropractic. This gives us the ability to provide a host of services under one roof and ensure coordination of care and communication between providers.”

Dr. Cintineo advocates a chiropractic evaluation as the first step for a back or neck problem rather than going directly to a specialist. “That’s like leap-frogging your primary care physician.  We can evaluate, diagnose and treat many patients conservatively without the need for drugs, surgery or injections.  If, however, a patient comes to us with the condition that is beyond our scope of care, we also work with the top specialists in Bergen County in the fields of neurology, neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery, pain management, and other related fields so we will refer a patient immediately if their condition dictates.”

Understanding that healthcare is ever-changing and as a result, doctors need to stay at the top of their game, Dr. Cintineo is currently enrolled in a fellowship program in Spinal Biomechanics and Trauma — the first of its kind in the chiropractic profession.  The fellowship is co-credentialed by the Cleveland Chiropractic University and the University of Buffalo, Jacobs School of Medicine. His current credentials and ultimately his fellowship training make Dr. Cintineo uniquely qualified to treat patients who have undergone trauma such as an auto accident or sports injury.  He is also the president of the American Academy of Trauma Professionals, comprised of a group of DCs who review and summarize current spine research and is the director of the New Jersey Accident & Injury Group, a statewide organization that hosts continuing legal education events to educate personal injury attorneys on the ramifications of their clients’ injuries both on a current and long-term basis.
