“Getting in the LAST WORD”

“The check cleared… I win!” Mark Studin 2017

I just received this from Dr. Yevins in Pittsburgh:

Mark,

You'll enjoy this one.  I recently had an attorney send a request asking me to reduce a $543.00 bill by 70%.  I sent a letter back stating that are of my values are at the 50th percentile of the PMIC guidelines and I would not take a 70% reduction.  I received a check today for $543.00 with a nasty note from the attorney saying "most doctors who care about their patients take reductions in their bills.  It is a shame that you are not helping this person out."

I would have considered a reduction had he not been a DICK and asked for a 70% reduction right off the bat.  I thought that was way off base.

Best Regards,

What did Dr. Yevins do? He threw out the note and cashed the check, which is the perfect answer… NOTHING!!

The last thing you want is to get in a war of words no matter how “pissed off” you are and no matter how inflammatory the rhetoric gets. The win is getting the check and anything you do after that will only be detrimental to you and your career.  NEVER rebut anyone who is venting because they are angry you won. Only rebut when they are not playing by the rules and then work hard to leverage them “legally” so you get paid.

P.S. Dr. Yevins now owes me a cup of coffee… JUST BECAUSE I AM A COFFEE SLUTSLUT
