After years of utilizing the previous magic language, I have been searching for an answer that covers both referrals and collections. Too many lawyers have taken the position of putting you, the treating doctor on the other side of the table when it comes time for settlement and basically, they work very hard to “screw you.”
This magic language version is engineered to leverage your credentials and the time and money it took you to get here. It is also about informing the lawyers that without you updating your knowledge and credentials in the future, their settlement offers will continue to spiral downward because you are the arbiter between winning and losing and higher settlements vs. “low ball offers.”
I have given you a full tutorial in conversational format with other doctors on fully understanding the reasons behind everything I have shared with you. I then gave you an actual tutorial on the exact language to use when you are with the lawyer.
There is a Power Point attachment in part #36 of the “Audio-Video Library “so that you can download the slides for your presentation. As always, if you share this with other doctors not in the program, this will become useless, so guard it carefully.
If you do not have the requisite credentials, then use the previous format as it focuses on only documentation. Your increased credentials is the new “2018 standard” and you must be prepared.There is too much rhetoric (the ol’ chiro 1-step, 2-step) in our industry and “fancy paperwork” is not a solution regardless of the claims from others. If it was, then EVERYONE with that fancy paperwork would have HUGE PI practices and beyond those in our program, comparatively very few do.
When I shared the course work and resultant credentials with the last 3,000+ lawyers I presented to in live meetings, they all were willing to protect the doctor’s lien, as well as consider us the “first in line” for referrals (Primary Spine Care Doctor). They understood that WE (the fully credentialed DC’s) were the solution to their practices and the beginning to reversing the downward spiraling “low-ball offers.”.
