Preamble: many of these issues I bring are small, yet each issue is just that… an issue. If you take care of the small issues, then you will be able to build and focus on the larger issues… a larger, more profitable practice along with more family time.
“Digital Contact Information”
This is a so simple, but yet HUGE in your marketing toolbox: Contact information. On every ad, Web site and marketing piece, you must have your contact information. How can people EASILY get to you if they don’t know how to reach you RIGHT NOW?
Remember, referring is often an emotional decision, no different than the business model that Costco, BJ’s or Home Depot was built on. The “big box” stores bank on you buying not only what you need, but what you really don’t need but emotionally want at the moment and it is in front of you.
When you are exchanging emails with a potential referral source, is your phone number readily available? Is it on your signature line? These are “stupid easy” tasks, but are another piece of the building blocks in YOUR success formula.
Many of you have your contact information on the bottom of your email, but have omitted your phone numbers and are therefore remiss in providing that information to email recipients who might otherwise call you. Your phone number has to be EVERYWHERE and I can say with a great degree of confidence for most of you, it is not. I know that because many of you need callbacks from me and I am on the road. When I look for a phone number on the bottom of your email, it is missing and you do not get an immediate call back. If I was a referral source and had a new patient to refer, I would be more apt to refer if I could get in touch with you quickly.
In addition, this is not the schoolyard. Therefore, make your signature line formal with your full name and credentials. I get frustrated when, even worse, you do not have a signature line at all because I know that you are losing. What a wasted opportunity!!!!
These are the little things that add up to your making a tidy SMALL fortune when you could be putting the same energy in and making a LARGE fortune!!!
If you take care of the little things, the big things often take care of themselves.
