Preamble: many of these issues I bring are small, yet each issue is just that… an issue. If you take care of the small issues, then you will be able to build and focus on the larger issues… a larger, more profitable practice along with more family time. 

“Practice Strategy!”

I am significantly changing the Doctors PI Program to the point where I am also considering changing the name, although it has been branded for over a decade. So much has changed and those changes continue because the marketplace has changed dramatically over the last 6 months. It is my responsibility to not keep you abreast of those changes, but I need to keep you ahead of the curve so that you are prepared for the changes that are coming well before they get here. 

 
In fact, it is my passion to the point of obsession in figuring out what you need to do, how you need to do it and when it needs to be done so that you can keep winning and growing in a professional economy where everyone (except most of my people) is complaining of a shrinking market (income). As long as you follow the program you should be insulated to the freefall that most of your colleagues are experiencing. 

 
The key is not a marketing program or a marketing plan. It is a total strategy that allows you to capture the market share from sectors in the industry. The key words in the above statement is “strategy and sector” and goes well beyond working with lawyers.  In order to gain a perpetual market share, you need a strategy that is flexible, changes with the needs of the sector and can adapt based upon new tools inclusive of programs and research that both keeps the doors open and opens new ones as a result of the competition not having a clue of any of the above. 

In fact, the above reasons are why the current marketplace (other doctors) are reporting a shrinking market share (patients and money) because they are practicing in a distant 2014 or 2015 paradigm that is no longer applicable. In fact, most are practicing in a 2005 or older paradigm and they are hanging on for their “financial lives.”

 
Each sector in the marketplace is splintering. If we focus on lawyers, are they of the “old school” where chiropractors are akin to “dog crap” or do they realize that the “right chiropractor” through training and clinical excellence is the solution to their ever shrinking settlement offers. Do they still run away from low-speed accidents because they cannot grasp the nature of the injury and ignore the evidence or not accept ligament damage and digitizing or the need for impairment ratings? Each subdivision has a specific set of requirements to gain the market share and requires different tools inclusive of the right research that you are intimate with and tools such as the book on demonstrative evidence (from Lulu.com)  that positons you as the expert with authoritative verification. Do not be duped by someone who still preaches yesterday’s successes in thinking that all you need a slick report and your practice problems are resolved. There is no “get rich quick” scheme that doesn’t get everyone but you rich!
 
When dealing with medical specialists, there are old-school who still think that chiropractors are “quacks and charlatans” because the AMA published that 40 years ago? Do you have a team working under you that are referring to you and do you have the credentials and tools to have a peer-to-peer relationship with them? Are you distributing the “Science of Chiropractic” (from Lulu.com)  book for them to have and even read a section or 2 to realize that what you are saying is verified in the literature and offer to provide them with whatever referenced papers they like.

Within the referral sector of medical specialists there are multiple subcategories and each requires a different approach.

 
There are multiple other sectors, but those are the easiest to see. 

 
This is also why we have a “live symposium” twice a year to get you to see the “big picture” and then give you the changes required for the immediate future. There are so many changes that although I give them to you in the consultations, you need to see them pieced together in a “whole practice strategy” that will be laid out for you in the live seminar (the next one is June in New York).
