"Legally Defensible Fees"
Now, about your fees. I have previously suggested, rather strongly, that your fees should be derived from formal publications and not your colleague around the corner or across the country. That is as close to "inbreeding" as it comes and is not legally defensible. Currently, doctors have been reporting to me across the country that carriers are challenging them as to where their fees are derived. When the carrier challenges you about how you derived your fees and you tell them, "My cousin Vinny, has a chiropractor friend in New Jersey who knows someone in California who has an authority in New York whose aunt teaches in Ohio and that is how I got my fees..." Get the point?
My answer is my fees were derived from "Medical Fees in the United States 2015" published by PMIC and utilizes geographic variables to adjust by region and cost of living factors. That is legally defensible and will protect you from “my cousin Vinny!” CLICK THIS LINK TO ACCESS THE BOOK.
Feel free to use my name, but I am sure if you do…you will pay MORE :-(
