"Case Management: Adjusting the Asthma Patient”
A new Case Management Report has been posted on the site:
4. A 16-year-old patient was carried into my office by his mother with severe asthma. What do I do?
A 16-year-old patient male was carrier into my office…This happened to me on November 26, 1990 and he was struggling to get his next breath. His mother said that he had been hospitalized for asthma multiple times and had been living on drugs. She claimed to have resolved that she would give him no more drugs because they weren’t working and made him sicker. She brought him into my office because his neck also hurt and when I looked at him, he was literally turning blue. I had no choice but to try to help this young man as he was in crisis with nowhere else to turn. What transpired next was one of the most amazing moments in my professional career.
