If your EMR company tells you that AI will strengthen compliance and reduce the time required to generate the note, the system is fundamentally flawed. Under Caveat Emptor —consider leaving quickly.
Ambient AI requires you to verbally generate the entire note during the patient encounter, wait for the AI output, and then review the document line-by-line to ensure accuracy. By contrast, a properly engineered macro-driven system produces a complete, compliant note in a fraction of the time.
Even when AI is used only to “polish” language, you must still highlight text, place it in the correct section, and re-read everything to confirm accuracy and intent. All of this adds time—far more than doctors realize.
When your documentation system is designed by someone who truly understands chiropractic, reimbursement rules, compliance requirements, and the Daubert Standards (the federal and state rules governing admissibility in litigation), the software itself becomes a safeguard. It prevents providers from drifting outside legal, clinical, and reimbursement boundaries.

A compliant system must exceed minimum reporting standards for time, necessity, exam descriptions, and services performed—and it must do so in a structured, evidence-based, continuously updated format . A static note template used year after year is unacceptable in every state and is a major cause of claim denials and litigation exposure.
