I am pleased to share information with you that can help your practices. In our profession, there is too much "noise" in this space that can be a waste of your time and money, will lead you to licensure, malpractice, or fraud issues, or is just "recycled" steps while ignoring what has proven to work. Marketing + Clinical Excellence = PI Referrals
 
Marketing works for personal injury as long as it is "Academic Marketing." While some DCs have strong "long-term referral relationships with lawyers, most don't, and even those strong relationships often find those referrals withering. 

Why? The answer is that it is getting harder for lawyers to get their work admitted into the courts based on a lack of credentials. This has nothing to do with going to court; the lawyers judge you based on admissibility standards they must adhere to. Being a DC is incredible, but typically not enough in a personal injury case. Regardless of your Colossus reporting (which means nothing to the lawyer), fancy range of motion testing, or x-ray digitizing, you must have advanced credentials for lawyers to consider referring to you. 

All the above reporting issues are minor reasons to consider you; they are add-ons to bypass physical therapists because they need someone to certify rehabilitation (care). This is despite the evidence that DCs get 313% better outcomes than PTs for disability (they really don't care). However, they will not want you first. For that, you need advanced credentials. AND unless they consider you as the first referral option, you will always be struggling. 

Advanced credentials are those you get that are co-credentialed through medical AND chiropractic academia. Topics required for personal injury are MRI Interpretation, Trauma Triage, Spinal Biomechanics, Accident Engineering, etc. It is those credentials that need to be marketed. It's no different than finding a cancer surgeon. You don't go to the person with the fanciest equipment; you go to the doctor with the best training. 

Lawyers nationally are starting to bypass medical specialists for DCs with those advanced credentials in a large way. It is common for a DC with advanced credentials [and the plan on how to market those advanced credentials] to get 50-60 or 70 new PI cases per month for years solely based on the credentials and a plan to get the lawyer to understand there is a "new breed" of chiropractors. Part of that plan is strategic [academic] marketing of those credentials with the knowledge that comes with the education.
